The man famed for such hits as “Mrs. Robinson” and “The Sound of Silence” listed his New Canaan property this week for $13.9 million, which is 16 percent less than he purchased it for in 2012, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Simon and his wife, singer Edie Brickell raised their three children at the Brookwood Lane estate, which was originally built in 1938.
"The first thing we thought when we moved from Manhattan was 'Wow! We have our own park'," Simon said in a statement to the Wall Street Journal. "It took half an hour to walk a loop of the property with the dogs.”
The 8,525-square-foot, six-bedroom, 10-bathroom mansion sits on nearly 32 acres of land on a private park. It features a stone wall with a gated entry overlooking a pond surrounded by meadows. There is also a 2,400-square-foot cottage with a garage on the estate.
According to Zillow, a buyer would have an estimated payment of approximately $80,600 per month.
